"The issue concerning energy security of Ukraine is closely connected with the development and construction of new mines", - stated Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the course of his visit to the mining town Chervonohrad in Lviv region.

According to A.Yatseniuk, construction of one mine costs approximately 5-7 billion UAH. Therefore, whilst drafting a layout of a mine, it is necessary to take into account "the coal reserve, the quality of the coal, and the so-called capacity of the layer".

According to A.Yatseniuk, the works on development of design estimates of a construction of a new mine in Lviv region have already been launched.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is concerned with the coal reserves in Lviv region that constitute 1 billion tons, and will last only for the next two years at the particular mines. A.Yatseniuk deems necessary to employ the coal-miners from the unprofitable mines at the other sectors of national economy, and construct new mines, provided its economically profitable.
